  2. About Guardian Email Summaries Keep track of your student’s classroom progress through guardian email summaries. Guardians choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any time. Guardian email summaries include: Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails) Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers As a guardian, before you can receive email summaries, you must receive an invitation from your student’s teacher or school. When a guardian accepts the invitation, the guardian’s email is linked to the student in all of their classes.

Accepting an Invitation You have up to 120 days to accept an invitation before it expires. • Open your email invitation. • Click Accept Invitation. • If you’re not a guardian, click I’m Not The Guardian. • Sign in with your Google Account. • Note: For security reasons, you need a Google Account to receive summaries from classroom. You don’t need a Gmail address- you can create a Google Account with your current email address. When you accept an invitation you, your student, and the person who invited you (teacher/administrator) will receive an email confirmation.

Managing Your Email Summary Settings • At the bottom of your email summary, click Settings. • Under Time Zone, select your timezone. • Under Email Settings, select your desired email frequency. • If you don’t want to receive emails, select No Summary. You won’t receive an email summary if: There is no activity to report for the given time period. All your student’s teachers turned off notifications for their classes. You selected No Summary for how often you’d like to receive email.s You aren’t connected to any students in Classroom.

Removing Your Account from Classroom You can remove yourself as a student’s guardian at any time. • At the bottom of your email summary, select Settings. • Next to the student’s name, click Delete. • Click Remove. • Close to confirm. The student will receive an email that you were removed from their account.

  7. Google Classroom for Students Only students may login to a teacher’s Google Classroom. Here’s how: • Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In. • Enter your Google Apps for Education username. • Click Next. • Enter the password your school gave you. • Click Sign In.

  8. Tips and Tricks • For additional clarification of classwork or assignments, ask your student to login to their Google Classroom. Ask to see their Classroom Calendar. • Email teachers with any questions or concerns you may have regarding classwork or assignments. • Email the Rogers Instructional Technology Specialist with any additional questions or concerns.
