Newsletter No.4 2nd July 2010 WOW Week 21st June – 25th June All school had a tremendous time during WOW Week ending in an assembly where the children had invited VIPs; Mayoress of Whitworth,Whitworth Councillors, School Governors, RAFC Coach. Italy Y4 Red and Spain Green Class Were the winning classes and enjoyed our ‘Trophy Cakes’ kindly made by our school kitchen. Forthcoming Visits Year 5 will be visiting Whitworth High on Mon 5th July and then Healey Dell on either Mon 12th or Tuesday 13th July. Our School Choir will perform on Sunday 4th July at 7.30 pm at the Springhill Voices Concert at the Gracie Fields Theatre . SUNNY DAYS! We have been very lucky this year and had a number of very sunny days. Please could I ask you to make sure your child brings a hat to school with them so they are protected at playtimes. Thankyou. Hagbane’s Doom Year 6 and our School Choir will be taking part in 2 performances of Hagbane’s Doom – Mon 5th July 7 pm Wed 7th July 2pm If your child is in the show please contact the office to reserve seats, if you haven’t already returned your slip. Sports Days Our Junior KS2 Sports Day this year will be held at - 1.30pm on Wed 14th July Our Infant and Nursery KS1 Sports Day will be held on - Thursday 15th July The start time will depend on the weather: Hot/sunny weather 9.15 am Cooler weather 1.30 pm A decision will be made on Tuesday 13th after consulting the weather forcast and parents will be informed. (The Nursery classes will follow this time schedule according to the relevant session.) Primary School

  2. Newsletter No 3 - Second Sheet FoT Non-Uniform Day FoT will be holding a Chocolotto Non-Uniform day on Friday 16th July – Chocolate donations only please. This will be used on The FoT Chocolotto Stall at the local Whitworth Rushcart Celebrations on 5th September. FoT Summer Disco Thursday 15th July 2010 - £2 per child 3.45 – 5 pm Infants 5.15 – 6.30 Juniors Please send your payment into school along with the slip on the recent letter from Friends of Tonacliffe Nursery Parent Assembly Nursery parents are invited to join us on Wednesday 14th July at: 11.05 am for Morning Nursery and 3.05 pm for Afternoon Nursery Mrs Elsworth We wish Mrs Elsworth all the very best as she leaves us on Friday 9th July to await the arrival of her new baby in August. Mrs Elsworth will be back at Tonacliffe in 2011. Summer Holidays Please note that school closes for the Summer Holidays at 3.30 pm on Friday 23rd July Primary School
