  3. 課程目的 • 希望藉由各單元的設計活動與教學,能夠讓學習者應用及應對在用餐前後可能會遭遇的情境及問題,像是訂位、點餐、飲食中所會發生的疑難雜症及付帳等,藉以培養學習者不害怕用英文表達需求的態度,及滿足學習者實際生活中出國會面臨的需要

  20. 小聲一點是美德 Keep Your Voice Down美國餐廳和中國餐廳最大的差別就是:美國人吃飯通常都是安安靜靜的,不會大聲喧嘩,且很有禮貌的注意到會不會吵到鄰座客人。相較之下,中國餐廳就顯的熱鬧吵鬧許多,或許是因為民族性使然,我們喜歡大碗喝酒大口吃肉,而我們的婚禮喜宴就是縱情歡樂的最佳例子。但是入境隨俗,如果到國外西餐廳,我們就得盡量把聲音降低嚕!

Excuse me, waiter!Waiter: Yes?Friend B: Could you please ask that table over there to keep their voices down? We can barely hear each other talk.Waiter: Certainly, sir.Friend B: Thank you. *keep voices down 保持安靜lower voices down 降低音量*barely 幾乎不=scarcely/ hardlyE.g.: He has barely enough money to live on.

  22. 注意桌上禮儀Watch Your Table Manners 為什麼 要學桌上禮儀?

  23. Place the napkin on your lap. • 用餐的時候,可以用napkin輕擦雙唇,但是切忌用來擦鼻涕. • 可以跟侍者要衛生紙tissue,如果真的有必要性時.

  24. 2. Don’t slurp. • 吃湯和吃麵都不要發出聲音. • 因為各個地方習俗的關係,日本人喝湯喝的越大聲表示越好喝,但是在西餐禮儀中,喝的越大聲表示越沒水準.

  25. 3. Scoop the soup away from you. • 舀湯的動作叫scoop the soup. • 猜猜看要外舀還是向內(向自己的方向舀)?

  26. 4. Keep your elbows off the table. • 知道嗎?! ~吃西餐是不可以把兩隻手的手肘架在餐桌上的喔~

  27. 5. Use your knife and fork to signal to the waiter whether or not you have finished your dish. • 不需要開口告訴侍者吃完或是沒有,只要使用刀叉語言即可! • 猜猜看:配對 a. I’m still working on it. b. I’m done.

Is this for pick up or delivery?Sean: Delivery, please.Cashier: Ok, go ahead.Sean: I’d like to order a large pizza, please.Cashier: What toppings do you want on it?Sean: I would like mushrooms, tomatoes and sausages. Is this two for one?Cashier: Yes, it is.

  29. Sean: So I get another large pizza?Cashier: Yup.Sean: Then, on the other one I’ll have beef, extra cheese and green peppers.Cashier: Ok. Do you want any drinks with that?Sean: Yeah. I’ll have two cokes, please.Cashier: What’s your address?Sean: No. 5, Chung-Gun Road.Cashier: Great. We’ll be there in about thirty minutes.
