Online Testing Key Dates • Online Enrollment: March CEDARS file • Testing Window: April 23 – June 6 • Test Engine, Online Tools Training (OTT), Tutorials, and LCS • January 13 – Available for download • eDIRECT • January 13 – Access to downloads and ability to manage users • April 9 – Test Setup • Load Simulation Tool • January 13 – Available to districts • February 12 – Districts complete installation and load simulations

Tutorials and Online Tools Training • Tutorials • One for each grade and content area • Online Tools Training (OTT) • Two for each grade and content area • General • Students must review both at least once prior to testing • Review as many times as desired • Encourage parents to review • Consider parents that may not have home internet access OR who may not be English proficient • Schedule time for all administrators, teachers, and students to review

Preparing for Online Testing • Determine technology infrastructure available • Possible implementations • 1-to-1 laptop initiatives • Portable labs with Internet access • Traditional computer labs • Other quiet spaces with computers with Internet access • Local Caching Service (LCS) – highly recommended

  15. Paper or Online? When to Decide • Districts need to register schools that will be testing online by December 18, 2013via WAMS • Registration must be the entire grade level in one or more content areas • Even with the whole grade level testing online, there may be a few students using a paper test booklet if required by their IEP • Additionally, translated versions will be available on CD and will require a paper test booklet

System Requirements for 2014 • Student Test Engine and Local Caching Service • Windows XP (SP3)/Vista/7/8 • Mac OS 10.6.8 through 10.8 • Linux Ubuntu 12.04.1 – 32 or 64 bit with Gnome 3.4 with Unityshell • Processor: 1 Ghz minimum • Memory: 512 MB minimum; 1 GB or more recommended • Display: 9.5+ inch monitors with a resolution of at least 800x600 • Connectivity: Able to connect to the Internet • Security: Lockdown capability
