Purpose of the project • To identify the maximal possible switch from short car trips to walking and cycling • To analyse which kind of car trips could be switched • Why are people using the car • Who are using the car • Which kind of trips could be switched • To identify a more realistic switch • To make some recommendations for realising a switch

  3. Method • The project is based on the National Travel Survey and literature studies • One way is simple table studies to find the maximum possible switch • The other way is a simple discrete choice model to analyse by who and when switching is possible. • And how much could be switched

  8. The discrete choice modelDelimiting • Only taking round tours into account which means the whole travel from home and back to home again. • Short travels are defined as round tours less than 22 km (typical two trips each less than 11 km). • Adults with driving license.
