  1. Career Plan YOUR NAME YOUR OCCUPATION FIELD / DISCIPLINE / CAREER CLUSTER

  2. DESCRIPTION Provide an overview of the occupation.

  3. RELATED OCCUPATIONS List any related occupations (minimum of three required) that you would also consider. These occupations will likely fall within the same field / career cluster as the chosen occupation For example, related jobs to a teacher are: early childhood educator, educational assistant, professor, etc.

  4. OTHER OCCUPATIONS List any other occupations (minimum of three required) that you would also consider. These occupations will likely fall outside of the field / career cluster as the chosen occupation For example, if teacher is the chosen occupation, other occupations could include: farmer, doctor, cabinetmaker

  5. SELECTION CRITERIA Provide an overview of the criteria used to select the occupation.

  6. INTERESTS & PERSONALITY Provide an overview of how your interests and personality are well-suited for the chosen occupation.

  7. SPECIFIC DUTIES Provide a list some of the key duties.

  8. WORKING CONDITIONS Identify the working conditions. For example, do you work outdoors? Do you work with children? Do you work as a part of a team? Etc.

  9. EARNINGS Identify starting wages, as well as maximum wages. You can list your information as a salary (how much you would make per year) or as an hourly wage (how much you make each hour that you work).

  10. EMPLOYERS These are examples of the places, businesses, and industries that employ people in this field.

  11. EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS What is required of an employee in order for him/her to be hired? Do you need certain qualifications or experiences? For those students who use the training or certification slide OR the institution slides, this slide serves as an overview / introduction to those slides

  12. TRAINING & CERTIFICATION Program Description: (describe the training program that is required, as well as the steps to become certified) (this slide would be used by someone who plans on enrolling in an apprenticeship for a skilled trade OR someone who requires other training / certification that does not fall within skilled trade apprenticeships or college and university programs) (delete this slide if it is not applicable)

  13. INSTITUTION & PROGRAM Name of Institution: Program Name: Program Description: Fill in the above fields for each institution (college or university) that you would attend. Copy this slide if you need to attend more than one institution. Delete this slide if not applicable.

  14. PROGRAM DETAILS Enrolment: (identify how many students are accepted into the program each year) Grade Ranges (minimum grades): (identify the approximate “cut-off mark/range for this program”) Prerequisites: (required secondary school subjects – make sure you understand what the codes stand for) You should have one of these slides for each university or college program you are applying for. Copy this slide if you need to attend more than one institution.Delete this slide if not applicable.

  15. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Include any other program requirements or info that is important to gaining entry/remaining in program (e.g. a personal profile, a portfolio, etc. You can delete this slide if it is not needed.

  16. RESOURCES Look at various resources including those linked to my page on the school website. You should use at least three sources of information. Reference each resource properly (see the link on the course website)
