  1. ARNI Internship for HEMS By Danielle Baldwin 7th PD Internship Class Mr. Bishop

  2. Facts about ARNI • Founded in 1999. • Located in Daytona Beach • Non Profit and No Kill shelter • Has both dogs and cats • They are a last chance resort for animals

  3. My Duties • I walked the dogs • Played with the dogs and cats • Cleaned their rooms • Helped with adoptions • Gave each one personal attention

  4. Experiences I learned • I learned Dependability • How to care for an animal in the proper way. • How to take initiative and control my emotions while working with others. • Also, how to take responsibility when something went wrong.

  5. Appling to the Real World • Many people love animals and want to get to know more about them. • With the experiences I got from working at ARNI, it will help me get a better understanding when working with animals. • This will help me also understand what it is like working with the public

  6. Why Adoption? • It gives animals a second chance. • It is much cheaper than buying a pure breed. • They have a bigger variety than what you get from the offspring of one dog!

  7. Some of the residents

  8. Catopia

  9. Cats that live in Catopia

  10. Jake and Marley • Jake and Marley were 2 Mini Australian Sheppard's who were rescued from a puppy mill and had no back paws as a result of it. • They were at the shelter for about 2 months until they were adopted by Embry Riddle students who were building them devices to help them get around.

  12. The Sochi Dogs • During the Winter Olympics many stray dogs were roaming where the athletes were competing. • The Russian Government did not like this because they thought that the dogs may have diseases that could spread to the athletes

  13. The Sochi Dogs cont’d • The Russian Government had to put some of the dogs down to get them off the streets. • Many athletes took some home to save them from being put down • ARNI got a total of 18 dogs. 13 of them were puppies.
