SMS Grading System • Classroom Participation. (30% of total score) • Classroom participation depends on four different assessments. • Class work (5% of total score) is marked subjectively by teacher after every class. • Homework (10% of total score) is marked for every homework given by the teacher. • Class Behavior (10% of total score) is marked for every class by the teacher. • Student Profile (5 marks) • These scores are reported online on weekly basis along with the quiz results for the week. • The data is accumulated for the quarter to be added into the final score of the quarter.
SMS Grading System • Quizzes (30% of Total Score) • All subjects in group have weekly or biweekly quizzes. The quizzes data is sent home in weekly reports and is also added to the quarterly assessment. • One quiz with the least score in the quarter will be dropped.
SMS Grading System • Term paper/Project (15% of the total) • The following subjects have term paper or a project involved every quarter. • English Grammar and Composition (Grade7-12) • Science (Grade7-9) • Biology (Grade10) • Chemistry (Grade11) • Physics (Grade12)
SMS Grading System • Final Exam (40% of the total) • The final exam for the subjects in the group are 40% of total marks. However the subjects including a term paper or project have only 25% for Final Exams.
Minimum Promotion Requirements • The students should not fail or score below 60% in more than • Grade 7-9 Two Subjects • Grade 10-12 One Subject
Tardiness and Absenteeism • The regular school timing is from 07:00 am to 01:40 pm. • All latecomers will be referred to student councilor or vice principal for disciplinary action. • Students arriving after 7:15 will not be allowed to attend the first class and will be marked absent for the same.
Tardiness and absenteeism • In case of absence the student must provide the school with an excuse letter. • The sick leave is only granted in case a stamped medical certificate from a hospital is provided. • The certificate/excuse letter should reach the school before Monday for the preceding week absence. • No excuse will be accepted after the said time.
Cell phones in the school??? • Students shall not use phones for any purpose whatsoever during the school time. They can keep their phones in their bags or lockers. Any student found using phone will be asked to hand in the phone and it will be returned at the end of the quarter.
