Section 3.1 -Cacao Trees were cultivated in Venezuela and Central America, Then planted in Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil and Africa -Cacao was considered to be a stimulant, intoxicant, hallucigen and aphrodisiac -Cacao was eventually used as money -Some Catholic suggested introducing it to Europe that is used as money also in Spain -Cacao was traded to highland civilizations of Teotihuacan's and later the Aztecs -Cacao became Spanish Americas export of agricultural goods. -Trade denounced by some secular competitors for trying to monopolize trade.

  2. -In 1828 Chocolate was invented by Dutchman Van Houten -They’re were many spices added to chocolate, such as water, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla Chocolate was the first popularized by Ascetics priest in Spain and neighboring countries -Chocolate was considered a Catholic drink -In Spain it’s a spiritual drink of absence.
