  2. You already know how to make a verb negative in Spanish. How? Just add the word “no” before the verb. Tengomuchospasatiempos. = I have a lot of pastimes. Notengomuchospasatiempos. = I don’t have a lot of pastimes. There are other ways to express negativity in Spanish. Some of these you already may know.

  3. Nada = nothing/not anything -¿Quéestáshaciendo? - Nada. No tengonadaquehacer. Nunca = never/not ever Yonuncatejo. Nadie = no one/not anyone/ Nadiecose en estaclase. Nobody Ninguna = none/not any ¿Cuántascanciones de (feminine noun) los Chipmunks tienes? -¡Ninguna! Ninguna=no/not any No hay ningunaluz(feminine adjective, encendida en la casa./ singular) There aren’t any lights turned on in the house.

  4. Ninguno = none/not any ¿Cuántos de Uds. hablan(masculine noun) el árabe? - Ninguno de nosotros. Ningún = not any/no Notengoningún amigo (masculine adjective) sueco./I don’t have any Swedish friends. Tampoco = not either No me interesatejer o cosertampoco.

  7. In English, we can say “I have no money.” You cannot say “Tengo no dinero” in Spanish! No is a response to a question or makes a verb negative; it doesn’t go with a noun! Ninguno and ninguna are used instead of the words “no” or “none.” They are usually used in the singular (you can’t have plural “none”!) and they must agree in gender with the noun they describe.

  9. Ninguno changes to ningún when in front of a masculine noun (when it’s an adjective). Ninguna stays the same whether it’s a noun or adjective. Ningunode mis amigos fue al partido. (NOUN) None of my friends went to the game. Ningúnamigo fue al partido. (ADJECTIVE) No friend of mine went to the game. Ninguna de susamigasesmiembro del equipo de basquetbol. (NOUN) Ningunaamiga de Katiaesjugadora de baloncesto. (ADJ) No tengoningúnpóster en la pared de mi dormitorio. (ADJ)
