    4. Types of Plants Edible You can eat it! Fruits and vegetables are edible plants. Examples: Lettuce Dandelion leaves Carrots Watermelon Even Brussel sprouts!! Non-edible Don’t eat these! Examples Poison ivy Hemlock Carnations Cactus

    5. More Types of Plants Flowering These plants have colorful flowers to attract insects for pollination. Examples azalea geraniums tulips Non-flowering These plants do not have flowers, only leaves. Examples: ivy fern philodendron

Even More Types of Plants Coniferous These plants do not have flowers, instead they produce cones to carry their seeds They do not lose their leaves, so they must be tough to last through the winter. Examples: Rhodedendron evergreen trees Deciduious These trees and plants shed their leaves in the autumn. They also produce flowers which develop the seeds. Examples: oak trees maple trees
