Picasso • Picasso lived from 1881 – 1973. • He is now considered to be one of the most important artists of the 20th century. • Picasso was born in Spain. • He lived most of his life in France, with a special love for Paris where he had many friends.
Picasso • Picasso is best know for his work as a painter. • Over his long life he worked in many different mediums – pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and all sorts of paint, clay, fabric, and other materials. • He painted in many different styles which we will explore today. • He produced more than 20,000 works of art. That means he created almost one new piece of art each day!
Picasso • Picasso’s father was an art teacher and recognized early that Pablo had a special talent for art. • He was accepted into a special art school in Barcelona when he was just 14 years old – most of the students were much older.
