  2. Brief No. 5 • You have been asked to create a website for an estate agent based in your local area. The website must feature properties for sale in your area. The website must include descriptions and multimedia presentations of the properties. • Customers who use the website must be able to: • search for different types of properties • register to be added to the estate agent’s mail and email list • request a viewing of a particular property. • This task may be completed in conjunction with Unit G053: Developing and creating websites.

  3. Summary Requirement You must produce an evaluation of commercial websites that have been downloaded;

The G053 specification says… • Access and search the internet to review existing websites, to obtain ideas on design and the use of both multimedia and interactive features; • Consider the benefits and drawbacks of different features for both the user and the website owner; • Consider the strategies used to increase the number of site ‘hits’, • e.g. use of metatags; • Download graphics and information.

  6. G053 Assessment Criteria http://bit.ly/g053assessmentform The candidate evaluates critically the design and structure of at least two existing commercial websites, clearly identifying how the features have provided ideas for inclusion or exclusion in their own website.

  7. G048 Assessment Criteria A3 Criteria (3 Marks) • Produce an analytical report into current working practice • To examine in detail in order to discover meaning and essential features etc. • The report should highlight strengths and weaknesses of the current working practice; • Look at 3 similar websites and comment upon their effectiveness, document common features and consider the advantages and disadvantages of differing approaches. • The report highlights all issues of which account need be taken when implementing the project. • There should also be some more general, theoretical, considerations relating to website design such as file size and browser compatibility. http://bit.ly/g408assessmentform
