Focus is on improving the educational services provided to student populations so they can more successfully participate in classroom and school activities.

  7. Preparing Reading Teachers Vygotsky views interaction with peers as an effective way of developing skills and strategies. He suggests that teachers use cooperative learning exercises where less competent children develop with help from more skilful peers - within the zone of proximal development.

Preparing Reading Teachers Vygotsky believed that when a student is at the ZPD for a particular task, providing the appropriate assistance (scaffolding) will give the student enough of a "boost" to achieve the task. Once the student, with the benefit of scaffolding, masters the task, the scaffolding can then be removed and the student will then be able to complete the task again on his own.

Supervisors are encouraged to give these examples. Candidates evaluate their supervisor on this type of modeling. • Feedback is a strategy already well known education and it occurs as both formative and summative evaluations. “just-in-time” feedback aligns with the nature of feedback in the ZPD. • Providing quality on-target feedback stimulate ZPD activity and outcomes.

  16. Reflection After completing my presentation, I reflected and realized I needed to add more information about assessment. I decided to include student self-assessment because I feel that if they have some input on their grading, they will be more diligent in their work. I also added a time frame of when work would be returned. I feel it is important to quickly return work to students with input so that they are aware of their strengths and weaknesses I wanted to add an activity that made music but could not find a free website. I could not include actual musical instruments in the center because of noisiness and/or sanitary issues I feel that students will enjoy & learn from the centers which I will change if I feel it is necessary
