so what does it take
So what does it take?

You said …..

boils down to
Boils down to….
  • Business knowledge and credibility
  • Complex programme track record
  • Energetic, confident and resilient
  • Digital experience
  • Influential communicator
  • Political and negotiation skills
so who are the contenders
So Who Are The Contenders?

CIO, CDO, CMO, CFO, HR, politicians, CX, external interim, CTO, service directors, ….

starter for 10
‘Starter for 10’
  • Not about the technology
  • Not the birth right of any professional area
  • …or any individuals such as an IT leader
  • But could be the CIO … but …

… digital innovation must be shared through collaborative working and distributed leadership, ie so that change is led through others.

A ‘digital leader’ earns the authority to facilitate culture change and to address silo and out of date ways of working by their credibility, style and affinity with organisational priorities – coupled with programme delivery track record … not by their technology credentials.
