  2. STEP BY STEP PROCESS FOR APPLYING FOR STATE JOBS: SPO Link: www.spo.state.nm.us Step 1: Click on Apply for State Government Jobs. Click here to apply

  3. Click on Internal Job Posting for Highway Maintenance Worker-A Posting ONLY!!!! **** Refer to STEP 2 for all other NMDOT positions.

  4. Step 2: Scroll Down and click on Department of Transportation Step 3: Click the “Go” Button. Leave Blank LeaveBlank Step2 Step 3

  5. Step 4: Click on “Job Title” Highway Maintenance Worker -O Step 4

  6. Step 5” Click on “Apply” Button Step 5

  7. Step 6: To apply you must have an account, Click on “Create an Account” Step6

  8. Step 7: Enter all information in required fields that have an Asterisk (*). You must have a valid e-mail address to continue.Note: Select email on *Notification tab. This is how you will be notified Select E-Mail

  9. Step 8: Click “Create Application”.Step 9: Create a “Name” for your application Step8 Step9

  10. Note: This is where the application process begins. Please follow step10 through step 14 and fill out all required fields. Step 10 Optional Step11 Step 12 Step 13 Optional Optional Optional Step 14

  11. Step 10: Click on “Edit Personal Information” and enter the required information. Once you have completed this section click “Save & View Application”.

  12. Step 11: Click on “Add Education” and enter the required information. Once you have completed this section click “Save & View Application” or if you have other education you can click “Select & Add Another”.

  13. Step 12: Click on “Add Work Experience” and enter all your information into the required fields. Once you have completed this section click “Save & View Application” or if you have other Work Experience you can click “Select & Add Another”. ***You will want to add ALL of your work history.

  14. Step 13: Click on “Add Certificate or Licenses” and enter all your information into the required fields. Once you have completed this section click “Save & View Application” or if you have other Certificates or Licenses you can click “Select & Add Another”.

  15. You can add “Additional Information” from the drop down box below and type it the box.

  16. You can also add references. “Click on add references”

  17. Step 14: Click on “Add Attachments” and enter all your information into the required fields. Once you have completed this section click “Browse” to find your attachment and then click the “Upload” button to upload your attachment.**** This section is where you will put attachments such as DD214, College Certificate(s), College Diploma(s), and Transcripts etc... that you may have.

  18. Step 15: Click on “Go to step 2”: Agency Wide Questions, answer all the question and click “Save and Proceed”.

  19. Step 16: Answer all the Supplemental Questions. Please Note: The number of years of experience you indicate on question 2, must match the years of experience on your resume or work experience. You can also select the location (s) you want to apply for in question 13. Click on save and proceed once you have answered all of the questions.

  20. Step 16: Please review the application you're about to send for the position of Highway Maintenance Workers-Operational (DOT-D4). If you need to modify any parts of your application, just click the 'Edit' button next to the section you wish to modify. Once you've reviewed the application click the 'Confirm Application' button to proceed to the final 'Certify & Submit' step.

  21. Step 18: To Certify and submit your application read the following information in the box and click “ACCEPT” or “DECLINE”. If you accept your application will be submitted to NMSPO. If you decline it will not be submitted.

  22. Once you click the “ACCEPT” button you will receive this notification letting you know you application is complete.
