  3. Intent to Enroll & Enrollment Deposit You must confirm your plans to attend CSU San Marcos by submitting the Intent to Enroll and Enrollment Deposit on MyCSUSM. Click the Accept/Decline Link beside your admission status. The Intent to Enroll and deposit must be submitted by May 1, 2011. The $150 deposit will be applied to your fees for the first fall semester. The deposit is waived if you received an application fee waiver.

  4. Financial Aid and Scholarships Everyone should apply! You may have already completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2011-2012. If not, the priority date to apply is March 2, 2011. Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and include our school code number (030113). Also ensure your GPA information is submitted by your high school for a CalGrant!

  5. Housing Plans • On-Campus: If you are interested in living on campus, begin the process early. You can submit an application to live on-campus any time, but you cannot confirm your place until you submit the Intent to Enroll and Enrollment Deposit. • Off-Campus: The Student Life & Leadership Office can assist you with apartment searches, roommate matching and other resources.

  6. Placement Exams All CSU campuses require new freshmen to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam prior to enrollment unless you are exempt by scores earned on other appropriate tests (EAP/SAT/ACT/AP). Tests are scheduled at CSU San Marcos and at each CSU campus. You are encouraged to sign up for these exams as early as possible so your scores will be available when you attend orientation. Placement Exams • Exempt from EPT requirement if: • EAP College Ready/Exempt in English • SAT Verbal score is 500 or above • ACT English score is 22 or above • AP Language & Composition score 3, 4 or 5 • AP Composition & Lit score 3, 4, or 5 • College English course with “C” or higher • EPT Score: 147 or above • Exempt from ELM requirement if: • EAP College Ready/Exempt in Math • EAP Conditionally Ready/Exempt in Math and completing Algebra II or higher in Senior year • SAT Math score is 550 or above • ACT Math score is 23 or above • AP Calculus score of 3, 4 or 5 • College Math course with “C” or higher • EPT Score: 50 or above

  8. Where’s my class? Where is Cougar Central? Orientation • To welcome and orient you with CSU San Marcos, we hold orientation programs during the summer. Attendance at Orientation is mandatory. • You must submit your Intent to Enroll and deposit before registering for an orientation program. • You will register for your fall semester classes. • You’ll meet faculty and staff that will support you while you are a student. • You’ll learn about being a college student!

  9. Final transcripts are due July 15, 2011. Final Transcript I wonder if I can blow off this class? Your offer of admission is provisional; you must keep your academic work strong. Submit your final, official high school transcript indicating completion of all courses reported on your application for admission. Transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope by July 15, 2011.
