  2. Emile Pandolfi • Born in New York, Emile Pandolfi began his training in classical piano at the age of five. He moved to Greenville, South Carolina in 1956 and attended Greenville Senior High School. He continued his training through graduate school, earning his degree in piano performance. Strong in both technique and musicality, he turned to popular music after completing his education.

  3. Emile Pandolfi • After completing his education, Pandolfi traveled to Australia, several states in the United States, and St. Thomas, England to perform. He spent the majority of his time in Los Angeles. While there, he played for dancing, acting, and opera coaches. He also played in nightclubs and on cruise ships. In 1986, Emile moved his family to Greenville. After 45 minutes in town, he became the pianist at a private club and remained there for seven years.

  4. Emile Pandolfi:The Interview Have your experiences at Greenville Senior High School helped you along your career? • “My chorus teacher at GHS, Virginia Uldrich, influenced me. She let me accompany her chorus and taught me about the relationship between playing the piano and singing. This led to me being an accompanist for many years until I began my solo career.”

  5. Pandolfi:The Interview What do you consider to be the greatest part of your career? • “The greatest aspect of my career is that it introduced me to many different people and places that I would otherwise not have met or seen.”

  6. Pandolfi:The Interview • What are your favorite types of music to • play and listen to? • “I enjoy listening to piano classics, such as Chopin, Latin Jazz, and various songs from different musicals.”

  7. Pandolfi:The Interview How do you feel while playing your music? • “People tell me at the end of a concert that they laughed, they cried, they felt deep emotions. When I’m playing, whether it’s on my CD’s or in concert, I like to give 200% so the audience knows that nothing’s being held back, emotionally speaking.” • “It’s like when you see a good movie and it’s cathartic; you’ve had a beautiful experience that’s what I like to happen for my audience.”

  8. Pandolfi:The Interview Is there anything in particular that you concentrate on while playing your music? • “The first thing that I concentrate on is mood, or feel, in my arrangements which becomes the backdrop on which I paint the musical ‘picture.’”
