  1. WellsFargo Chudi Egbebike Period 2

  2. On March 18 1852, Henry Wells and William Fargo founded a company that has become a legendary part of America.  The new company offered banking and services to Gold Rush pioneers. They never knew that Wells Fargo would go on to be one of the most well known banks in the world. On December 8, 2008, Wells Fargo merged with Wachovia, making it North America’s most extensive distribution system for financial services with 11,000 stores and 12,260 ATMs.

  3. Location • Some think that Wells Fargo is a prominent bank only in America, but this bank is actually a national bank. Their main offices are in Hong Kong & London, but they have branches all over the world: Asia, Europe, Latin America, etc.

  4. What types of services does Wells Fargo offer? • Wells Fargo offers checking, banking and CD accounts.

  5. Checking and Saving • Checking • https://www.wellsfargo.com/checking/ • The checking account is the best account for easy access to your money. • Savings • https://www.wellsfargo.com/savings_cds/ • With a savings account you can only deposit and withdraw from an ATM.

  6. CDs • https://www.wellsfargo.com/savings_cds/ • A CD (certificate of deposit) is an insured financial product similar to a savings account, which means it has little to no risk. Unlike a savings account, a CD has a specific, fixed term and earns interest at generally a fixed interest rate.

  7. Fees • CDs need a minimum opening deposit of $5,000. • Checking and Savings accounts need a minimum opening deposit of $100. (Checking accounts usually require monthly payments of $10-$15.) (https://www.wellsfargo.com/checking/)
