  • Devices which record images as still pictures or moving pictures. It was invented in 1685 by Johann Zahn. He was the first to capture an image on a medium.

Fax Machine

Invented in 1843 by Scottish mechanic and inventor Alexander Bain. It evolved closely from the technology of the telegraph. A fax machine is a quick way of sending data over a telephone line and receiving it at a remote location.


Invented in 1845 by Charles Babbage. It was called the Analytical Machine which is said to be the first programmable computer. It used punch cards as media to store calculations.


The telephone was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. It is a system that converts acoustic vibrations to electrical signals in order to transmit sound, typically voices over a distance.

  • John Logie Baird invented the first television on January 26, 1926. It is a telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving moving images that can be a monochrome or colored with or without accompanying sound.

  • Built in 1957 by Russell Kirsch. The first scanner was called a drum scanner. It was built at the US National Bureau of Standards. The first picture scanned was a picture of his son.

This was invented in 1991 by Smart Technologies. They have a windows operating system and can use a mouse to navigate. It also allows you to use your hands to navigate the board.

IPODInvented in 2000 and unveiled in October 2001, this is a small pocket sized device used to play music files.
  • A line of tablet computers designed and marketed by Apple, Inc. It is a platform for audio-visual media including books, periodicals, movies, music, and games. It was first released in April of 2010. It is a touchscreen tablet.
