  1. MASH Academy Graduation Information CLASS OF 2014

What does “graduating” from the Academy mean? • It means that you were able to complete a strict set of guidelines and courses designated by the MASH teachers • It means that you worked hard to be successful in the Academy • You will be invited to the MASH Academy lunch, where you will be awarded a certificate • You get to wear a special medallion at graduation, and your name will be designated in the graduation program

  3. Requirements • Member of MASH Academy for 3 years • 10 verified service hours during junior and senior years • Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA • Minimum of ONE MASH class during sophomore year, with a B or better • Minimum of TWO MASH classes during junior year, with B’s or better • Minimum of TWO MASH classes during senior year, with B’s or better • Member of a Professional Student Organization for 2 years • Completion of portfolio

  4. Courses Classes that count toward graduation from MASH: Introduction to Health Sciences Medical Anatomy and Physiology Sports Medicine Introduction to Emergency Medicine CNA AP Biology AP Chemistry CE Chemistry Organic Chemistry CE Adult Roles CE Human Development Zoology Botany Internship (must be medical or science related) DATC (must be medical or science related)

  5. Professional Student Organizations Membership in these organizations can count for graduation: HOSA MESA National Honor Society Chemistry Club

  6. What if I don’t meet ALL the requirements? • You can earn a Silver Certificate for completing the requirements for two years • You can earn a Bronze Certificate for completing the requirements for one year • Certificate recipients will be invited to the MASH Academy end of year lunch, and receive a certificate and a pin

  7. Portfolio Requirements • Cover page with your name, graduation date, and a color photo • Copy of your transcript • Two letters of recommendation, at least 1 from a MASH teacher • One example of exemplary work from junior year (English essay, history project, MAP project, etc) • One example of exemplary work from senior year • Personal reflection essay • Verification of service • Verification of Student Organization membership • Portfolios will be due in April 15, 2014
