One University Ohio State Marion’s Early History • May, 1957: Ohio State Trustees approve off-campus courses • October 1, 1957: Ohio State Marion opens 166 students, 16 courses • 1966: Community starts fundraising campaign to purchase campus land $400,000 for 180 acre campus $227,000 for scholarships • 1968: Morrill Hall opens
