During the test • READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!!!- Highlight important info • Look over the whole exam before you start- this will help with pacing yourself • F My Life example: “Today, I was prioritizing my extreme amount of homework. I read over the front page of my psychology paper seeing that it was pretty easy questions, I decided to do it last. Little did I know there was a 8 page essay on the back of the page…FML” • Do the easy parts first- gain confidence and time for the harder sections

  3. Multiple Choice/ True False Tips • Underline qualifying words: examples not, except, best, always, never, none • Read all potential answers before selecting one • Recognize out of place answers • Cross out incorrect answers- process of elimination

  7. Matching Question Tips • Find out if there is a match for every pair • Read through the shorter column- find matches for it • Cross out items in each column when you are though with them • Answer the easy ones first • Match words that are similar grammatically. For example a noun with a verb.

  9. Short answer- fill in the blank • Concentrate on key words and facts • Answer the question completely • Be brief- hence short-answer • Look through test for proper spelling if it is necessary • Don’t over think it

Using the SMART goal model, provide two specific examples of how your roommate could improve his goal for next term. Include which component of the SMART goals (the S, M, A, R, or T) is being included with both of your improvements.

  11. Essay Questions • Pace yourself well so you have enough time to complete them • Pay attention to wording- what does your teacher want? Summary, Compare and Contrast, Define, Analyze • Create a quick outline with key concepts, terms, conclusions you want to make- Mind Maps are great tools here! • Have an: • Introduction • Thesis statement and examples, lecture materials, research to back it up • Conclusion
