What are the expectations for students with the Common Core State Standards? • Students who are college and career ready can… • With rigorous expectations: • Think deeply • Students need to analyze, discuss, evaluate, justify, and explain their thinking MORE and with deeper understanding • Integrate learning • Students need to be able to apply what is learned in one discipline to another, being flexible thinkers • Show how they know • Students need to explain their thinking, providing proof & evidence • (Jones & Duty, 2013)
