Why is it so important for our community to recycle? • It is important to recycle because it affects everything that surrounds you including the air, water, land, plants, and man-made things. • By using scarp metal instead of iron ore energy savings are about 70%. • Both Aluminum and steel are very important to recycle because the are very valuable sources. • Recycling can reduce the use of finite resources.

  4. Parts in a car you can recycle • Engines • Mirrors • Hoods • Fenders • Doors • Wheels • Tail lights • Tires and other materials are recycled in a car.

  5. Money and Savings • By recycling you can also make money.When you go recycle your cans, plastic, and other resources you earn money in exchange. • Cans are about 5-10 cents each, and other recycling companies charge by weight of cans, and bottles.

  6. Different ways you can help your community • There are many different ways you can help your community for example joining clubs at your school. • You can volunteer for many different activities to help out your community. • Some clubs are HEARING AIDS, EPA, THE RECYCING CLUB FOR NHTI there are many many other clubs.

Clubs • Some clubs you can attend to help your community are the following: • Hearing AIDS, EPA explorers club, The Recycling Club for NHTI, and the Follette recycling club. • They all help and give information of waste and recycling in there community. They also have activities and how you can protect the air, water, and land.

  8. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! • Reduce-buy or use natural resources wisely. Also use less than usual to avoid waste. EX: You buy what you need and use all of what you buy. Or when done with use pass it to someone else to put good use of it. • Reuse- you can wash and reuse plastic cups, plates, utensils, and plastic food storage bags. • Recycle- tires, yard waste, wood, steel cans, paper, and other materials. • These are the three r’s.

  9. Summary • Recycling is important for our community to reduce waste and recycle Because it affects everything that surrounds use. You can save and earn money by simply recycling. You can recycle, paper, steel cans, plastic, newspaper, wood, and other materials. Also can join clubs to help your community, which are: Follette recycling club, Hearing AIDS, and EPA explorers club. Remember trash can be recycled and the more you help out in your community the more the environment is a better and healthier place to be.
