It goes up to 30 times or even for more than an hour and it happens when your airways narrow down or get blocked. CPAP abbreviation for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure pushes air into airways to keep them open and prevent them from collapsing.  This machine consists of a pump that curbs the airflow, an elongated tube that transfers the air from the machine to the lungs via a mask that covers your mouth, nose, or both. Sometimes you might take time to get used to it because of the following things-  Mask and straps- If you haven’t slept by covering your face it might take a considerable amount of time for you to get used to the device.

  4. A mask is worn over your nose. • A nasal pillow mask that prolongs into the nostrils  • A full-coverage mask that can cover both face and nose.  • Between these three main types, there are kinds including: • A full-face mask that covers your whole face including eyes.  • Nose mask with nostril prongs. As long as the mask is properly secured and the air attained by your nostrils without disruption, the CPAP will work like magic. It is dependent on you and knows about your comfort with the mask and straps that have been used for hold. You might need to explore which mask suits you before getting comfortable with one.

  5. Noise- In older days, the devices used to be noisy and peculiar. Instead of a slower sound, it used to be annoying and louder. Some of them even had metallic and clicking sounds.  However, it is history, and machines today are much smaller to carry and quieter. It is soothing not only for you but also for your partner.  Pressure- CPAP appliance has different pressure, it depends on the person and the doctor who is suffering from the disorder. Because the pressure might vary depending upon the requirements. Also, the level of comfort with pressure may vary for people.  Dryness- Some continuous positive airway pressure machine users believe that pushed air dries out the nose and mouth. However, humidifiers do a great job in creating a moist environment both in the nostrils and surroundings.  Trouble breathing through nose- You have a stuffed up nose or facing sinus issues or any kind of nose allergies. You might need to consult a doctor to make it clear.
