Purpose of Today’s Session • Introduce the Project Managers – BURO4/Amion Consulting • Introduce the Design Team – Broadway Malyan • Set out some of the key issues • Highlight the project’s key milestones • Seek your support to raise the profile of the project • Agree how you would like to engage with us in the future.

  7. Land Ownership • Complex issue – fragmented ownerships • Each site has its own specific issues - sequencing and programming of the works need to be planned carefully • Clarity on lottery requirements needed urgently

Implementation • Current projection – 5 year build profile • To consider if ICP is to build as much as possible or pass responsibility for construction onto private developers • To incorporate responsibility for delivery of parts of the project within new regeneration plans • Funding, delivery and legal mechanism for carrying out future works

Management & Maintenance • Build on previous experience - lessons learned • Strategic management options might include: • Piecemeal approach focused on landowner with each managing their own site. This would need agreement to adhere to maintenance regime; • By local authority area under their current arrangements and adding the park to their portfolios; • One management contract for the whole park – various options include giving to existing provider from one of areas, open tender, endowment as per Land Restoration Trust model or bespoke URC Trust • Funding, delivery and legal mechanism required for the ongoing management and maintenance of completed works. • Agreement needed on strategic option – end Jan ‘07

Programme/Key Milestones • Stakeholder Visioning Event – 13th December 2006 • January/February 2007 – community consultation, business events • Feb 2007 – Develop preferred option • April 2007 – Cost Plan and Management & Maintenance Plan drafted • Mid May 2007 – Public launch / celebration / festival • 31st May 2007 – Submission of Bid to Lottery

Stakeholder Event 13th December ‘06 • 1pm to 4pm at Lowry (Compass Room) • Aim – to raise awareness and inform design process • Key stakeholders - LSPs, service providers, strategic community leads, Councillors • Invitation to developers and employees • Contact James Morgan at james.morgan@salford.gov.uk to confirm numbers

  12. Your support is needed • Lobbying at all levels • Marketing and media profile – promote project in your publicity materials • Shop-front marketing – any available to use near the river? • Support for the public launch in May – resources to support?

  13. How do developers want to engage with the project team in the future? • Regular developer’s forum : next one on Wednesday 14th February 2007 - 2pm to 4pm at City Tower • Bespoke workshops • Individual meetings/discussions • Attendance at working group meetings (monthly)
