HEAVEN Academy, part of Capel Manor College, offers vocational education in Horticulture, Environmental Studies, and Animal Care for 14 to 16-year-olds from local partnership schools in Enfield and Hertfordshire. Funded by the LSC through the Increased Flexibility Project, students gain hands-on experience with unique resources including 37 acres of parkland, poly-tunnels, and a small animal unit. Participants also engage in events like the Skill City exhibition, enhancing their learning through real-world applications in a supportive environment.

What are our aims? • To teach Horticulture, Environmental studies and Animal Care as vocational subjects
How are we Funded? We are funded by the LSC as part of the Increased Flexibility Project
What do we offer? Level 1 Certificate in Horticultural skills tests. BTEC first diploma unit accreditation from each subject
Resources • Horticulture: • 37 acres of parkland and theme gardens. Poly-tunnels andpractice areas for student activities. Work on and around the estate on ‘Real' jobs.
Resources • Environment studies: • Access to Forty Hall farm and environmental centre. • Natural ponds and woodland areas. • Stock control fencing and hedges.
Resources • Animal Care: • Small animal unit and exotic reptile room. • Animal stockyard with Kune Kune pigs, rare breed goats, Rabbits, fancy ducks and chickens.
Events and exhibitions • HEAVEN Academy students have taken part in the Skill City exhibition at London's Docklands and have built ‘Ground Force’ style gardens at the college activity days.
