  2. Merger • Medical University of Ohio (MUO) merged with University of Toledo (UT) effective July 1, 2006 • One University, but Two Campuses: • UT Health Science Campus (UTHSC) • UT Main Campus (UTMC)

  3. . . . What happened to MUO and UT?(continued) • Transferred Department of Public Health (MUO) toCollege of Medicine • Combined some public health faculty and programs from Department of Public Health & Rehabilitation Services (UT) with Department of Public Health (MUO)

NOCPH • Established Fall 1997 • Jointly developed and now delivers MPH degree program to: • educate and train students for careers in public health • enhance education and training of existing, practicing professionals • Increased availability and accessibility of public health education, research, and service via a collaborative effort

Administration of the NOCPH • Deans Committee: • One Graduate Dean plus one Academic Dean from each institution = Four Deans • Executive Committee: • One applicable program faculty member from each institution = Two Program Directors • One serves as overall Director, NOCPH • Admissions Committee: • Two faculty members from each institution = Four members • Advisory and Curriculum Committee: • Two faculty members and one student = Five members • External Advisory Committee: • Local & Regional public health professionals = Ten members

Administrative Notes • Accredited by CEPH effective July 1, 2001 . . .Reaccredited effective July 1, 2006 • Joint evaluation, revision, and delivery of MPH degree program • Two Core courses per campus • Elective courses at minimum two campuses • Common Student Handbook • Shared facilities, faculty, and expertise • Centralized application and record keeping (at UT Health Science Campus) • Award joint degree (diploma; transcripts) with all institutions named
