  1. How to Join the FMCSA Drug Testing Consortium Joining the FMCSA Drug Testing Consortium (Consortium) is an important step for employers to ensure they are meeting all of their obligations in terms of drug and alcohol testing according to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). First, employers must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) as a participant in the Random Testing Program.

  2. Second, initial membership requires adherence to specific requirements such as passing a screening check from DOT, submitting signatory representative information online via the Consortium's website, receiving proper credentials from DERs/General Agents and other consortia members, and committing to understanding Drug-Free Workplace guidelines as prescribed by DOT. Employers must also obtain qualified Drug and Alcohol Program managers who can oversee services provided by medical review officers and laboratories to further ensure accuracy and compliance with FMCSA protocols under 49 CFR Part 382. Finally, annual renewals of membership are required but provide many benefits including access to training materials and resources, discounted fees on consortium services, assistance in administering random selections and drug tests when needed, consistent regulatory updates on changes in FMCSA policies related to drug and alcohol testing programs among other benefits. goMDnow, LLC, an innovative technology company, is excited to announce a new, easy-to-use way for operators and owners of commercial motor vehicles to join the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA's) Drug Testing Consortium. With goMDnow, truck and bus companies can quickly and easily register with the Drug Testing Consortium and join the ranks of other industry leaders. The registration process is straightforward and quick, taking as little as 10 minutes to complete. The goMDnow platform is designed to streamline the process of becoming a consortium member. By registering on the goMDnow website, operators and owners can have peace of mind knowing they have successfully joined the database and are in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Once registered, operators can take advantage of the many benefits that come with being a member. These benefits include access to all mandatory drug testing regulations, convenient online distribution, and exclusive discounts to many participating trucks stops and maintenance facilities across the country, just to name a few.

  3. Joining the Drug Testing Consortium should be a top priority for all operators and owners who regularly use commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce. With goMDnow, it has never been easier to become a compliant and registered member, and to unlock the many perks of being part of the FMCSA family.
