  2. VISION & MISSION The vision of the institute can be summed up as Together towards global excellence. 1. Teaching and Research with focus on emerging technologies, business process and High-Tech Solutions in Low-Tech environment. 2. Integrating Technologies and Management in cross-cultural environments. 3. Shaping Students to be Innovative, Entrepreneurial, Supportive, Assured and International.

  3. BEGINNING • Established by Govt. of India through cabinet decision taken on Oct. 1995 based on report from AICTE • Setup in 1996 • Foundation stone laid on Jan 17, 1996 by Late Madhav Rao Scindia then MHRD • First meeting of IIITM Gwalior Society held on 17 January 1997 at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi • Institute is built upon 160 acres of land

  4. M/S Suresh Goel & Associates selected as chief architect by jury headed by Shri. M. K. Kaw, Secretary Education • Visioning Group developed the vision for institute • Former director Dr. D.P. Agarwal commissioned in 1998. • The first permanent faculty joined in 1999.

First course, PGDMIT started in 1998 with 30 students at MITS, Gwalior • PGDIT started in July 1999 with intake of 15 students • PHD programme started in July 2000 • 5 year IPG programme started in July 2000 • Obtained Deemed University status in 2001 • Campus shifted in July 2002 • “ABV” added to Institute name in December 2002

  6. Programmes • Integrated Post Graduate Programme (IPG) : B.Tech(IT) + M.Tech. (IT) / B.Tech(IT) + MBA • Master of Business Administration (MBA) • Master of Technology (M.Tech) • PHD • Management Development Programme (MDP)

IPG • To fulfill the future requirement of integration of technical and managerial skills and bring innovation in product, technology and market, the academicians of India envision the need for an integrated course based on Management and IT • The students passing out with masters as M.Tech are not only tech savvy but are also well versed with management concepts • Student passing from MBA know the basics of IT right from the first semester which makes them adept at visualizing future changes and providing business solutions through IT in better way.

  8. MBA • Managing Business : Business leaders need to envision the future. Students at ABV-IIITM are groomed to be leaders who with the domain knowledge of functional areas like Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Strategy and Operations are equipped with the aids to realize the cherished goals. • Providing Business Solutions : Students provide effective and efficient business solutions with their proficiency in management applications like e-Business, IT Strategy, ERP, SCM and CRM. • Integrating IT with Business : Inputs provided in areas like Data Base Management Systems, Software Engineering, Networking and Internet communications enable the students to optimize the usage of IT in areas where technology can provide strategic competitive advantage.

MTech • Disciplined Approach to IT : Enables ABV-IIITM students to analyze the needs of various IT products/services and guide them throughout their product life cycle. • Expertise in Developing Systems : Enables ABV-IIITM students to address specific requirements and to integrate existing & new technologies for resource optimization. • Exposure to Research and Development: To give a competitive edge to the organizations, they serve.

Ph.D • Doctoral programmes are offered in all areas of Information & Communication Technology and Management • Some of the programmes offered • Design & Development of distributed computing tools for computationally intensive task. • Customer Perceived value for Banking & Insurance Sector. • Building trust based relationship with e-customers

MDP • The institute conducts Management Development Programmes (MDPs) through which it endeavors to bring to the fore latest developments in the areas of Management and Information Technology. • These programmes are well received by professionals of the corporate world, government departments and educational institutions.

  14. Infrastructure • The institute has got one of the most green and picturesque campus across the country. • Spread over a lush 160 acres of land, the campus consists of 4 main blocks: • Administrative block • Academic block • Hostels • Faculty residence

  15. The Boys Hostel-1 was established on 23rd July 2002. • The Academic Block was completed in October 2003 • The Boys Hostel-3 was completed in April 2007. • The Administrative Block was made functional in 2008. • Boys Hostel-2 to be completed in 2008

  17. Life @ IIITM • Life at IIITM does not consist exclusively of books and computer codes. • Rather it’s a harmonious blend of regular studies and fun filled activities conducted by the students for the students and from the students

  18. Infotsav • This is the annual techno-management fest of the institute. • Teams from the apex technical and management institutes compete in this fest. • Over the years the participation has increased exponentially both in on-campus and off-campus events.

  19. Aurora • It’s the annual cultural fest of the institution. • This is a refreshing change from the daily routine of the geeks • The events like Mr & Ms. Aurora, dances, songs ignite it.

  20. Twaran • This is the first of its kind Inter IIIT-IIT sports meet organized by the institute. • Teams from the leading institutes participated with a sportive spirit.
