Reality Check • 95% of the Acholi people displaced • As of 2007, Kony has taken 88 young girls as his wives • As of 2006, Kony is thought to have had 42 children by these “child slaves” he calls wives • According to the bill H.R. 2478 IH, passed in the House of Representatives in May 19, 2009 calling for LRA Disarmament : • 66,000 Ugandan child soldiers • 2,000,000 Ugandans displaced • >160,000 from Congo, Sudan • In 2008, 900 killed in 2 months • Retaliation for capture attempts
