  1. Kony

  2. Leader of the LRA • Lord’s Resistance Army • Uses Ten commandments on the and local Acholi tradition to influence his army. • Born in 1961 and dropped out of school at the age of 15. He also stopped going to church, and became apprentice to a witch doctor, which he later took full control of. • He was also in the Uganda People's Democratic Army, which got him involved with the military General background

  3. Alice Lakwenastarted all of this, and her movement was known as the Holy Spirit Movement. She claimed to have talked to the Holy Spirit and was told to overthrow her countries government, which is the Ugandan government. Nothing was being done so her cousin Joseph Kony took power in 1986 They really don’t even have a goal, they just want to live life according to their ideological aspects and most people in the world have a problem with that. An estimated 100,000 people have been “drafted” into the LRA as of the 1980’s LRA

  4. 3 types of spirits these people worship • Jogi • Sing • Jok • The first two spirits are beneficial and would help the tribes grow crops and hold the tribe together via religion • The last one was the bad spirit. They would cause misfortune among those who didn’t obey rules, and the most common form of torture was being possessed. Acholi Tribe

  5. The leaders of the LRA are wanted, but not wanted enough, by the International Criminal court Kony goes to a town, kills anybody who isnt a teenager, and makes the survivors either foot soldiers, or sex slaves. He often makes the children rape or kill the family members, simply so they have no other choice but to fight for him. If this isn’t bad enough, he also dopes them up and gives them firearms. ( Wish my parents did that. ) Personally, this is worse than Hitler and the United States still hasn’t put their foot in the door. War Crimes

  6. The LRA’s movement has been dwindling little by little. Current information states that there’s only an estimated 1000 soldiers remaining, but they grow and reduce each year. Kony is still at large, and is hiding in the jungles of Africa. "The most important thing is that no matter how little the LRA may be, it still constitutes a danger [as] they continue to attack and create havoc” LRA today
