Welcome to Stoneridge! • Thank you for taking the time to get more information about our school. • We are proud of the education we are providing to our students and want to make sure our community and those outside of our community are aware of what we are doing. • You will go through 5 rotations. • If at the end of the night you still have more questions please feel free to contact us.   3. Tonight’s schedule 6:00-6:15: General School Overview (Multi) 6:20-6:35: Rotation 1 6:40-6:55: Rotation 2 7:00-7:15: Rotation 3 7:20-7:35: Rotation 4 7:40-7:55: Rotation 5 8:00-8:15 GATE Information Multi is open with drinks and snacks. Bathrooms in multi are open A Powered School

  6. Enrolling at Stoneridge • Kinder registration starts for families in our attendance area on Feb 23rd. Make an appointment with Diane in the office. • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Registration also starts Feb. 23rd. All TK’s are registered at the DO by calling 916-771-1600 to schedule appt. • Open Enrollment (Inter or Intra Transfer) priority window is Jan 20-Feb 20. Final Open Enrollment period is March 2nd-March 13th. • Open Enrollment acceptance based on available space, contract signed for behavior and attendance. A Powered School

  7. STEAM and Great Instruction • What is STEAM? Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math • All of our teachers trained and coached in effective first instruction. • We have a systematic approach to make sure students receive intervention. • Our teachers provide challenging and engaging curriculum. • Every teacher has a website they use to communicate with parents.   8. Science • Science Docent program • 3 extra Science Labs a Year, 5 next year • 5th grade dissects owl pellets, eyes and hearts • After school science enrichment including food science, chemistry, CSI A Powered School

  10. Engineering • Project Lead the Way (PLTW) • Every student K-5 is part of this program • Students love this program • Students learn to take risks and that it is ok to make mistakes A Powered School

  11. Arts • Great musical every year • Class performances • Talent show • Wonderful Art Docent Program • Clay project for every student • Days where we let students paint A Powered School

Math • Math is always a focus for us • Math Olympiad is offered to 4th and 5th graders, with Math Masters group offered to 3rd grade • The objective of Math Olympiad is to let them experience the satisfaction, pleasure, fun, and thrill of discovery associated with creative problem solving. Our teams are having a lot of fun this year! A Powered School
