TTT and Learning Dynamics for Instructor Updated: 2009 Next update: 2011 Description Train the Trainer (TTT): Two-day highly interactive course to prepare professionals to teach adult training and development courses on any subject. Workshop participants also make practice presentations and receive useful feedback. Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI): The next step after completing the prerequisite Train the Trainer course, Learning Dynamics for Instructors examines the dynamics of the classroom and describes techniques for managing these dynamics to maximize learning. The workshop focuses on adult learning principles and learning styles.

  14. APICS CPIM Modules The APICS CPIM is organized into five modules. Below is the diagram that shows how these modules relate to each other and how they will help you to manage your business resources.

CPIM Basics of Supply Chain Management • Entry Module • Redesigned and Updated in 2008 • Updated each year since • Description • The basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers are covered in the Basics module. Supply chain concepts are introduced and basic terminology emphasized, as are relationships among activities in the supply chain. Knowledge of the material in this module is assumed as a prerequisite for the other APICS CPIM modules, which cover similar topics but in much greater depth.

CPIM Master Planning of Resources • Competency Module • Redesigning and Updating in 2010 • Updated each year since 2008 to align with ECM • Description • The topics of demand management, sales and operations planning, and master scheduling are examined in-depth in this module. Both supply and demand planning for mid- to long-term independent demand are discussed. Priority planning and capacity planning issues also are addressed.

  17. CPIM Detailed Planning and Scheduling • Competency Module • Redesigned and Updated in 2009 • Updated each year since 2008 to align with ECM • Description • This course focuses on inventory management, material and capacity scheduling and plan­ning, supplier relationships, and the influence of lean/JIT philosophies in these areas. It explains the use of a material domi­nated scheduling technique, material requirements planning (MRP), in job shop, batch, and certain repetitive processes. The course explains capacity planning in detail, introduces other capacity-planning techniques such as processor-dominated scheduling in continuous flow processes, and reviews project management techniques.

CPIM Execution and Control of Operations • Competency Module • Redesigning and Updating in 2010 • Updated each year since 2008 to align with ECM • Description • The principles, approaches, and techniques needed to schedule, control, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations are covered in this module. A broad range of production operations are reviewed including project, batch, line, continuous, and remanufacturing environments.

CPIM Strategic Management of Resources • Competency Module • Redesigned and Updated in 2009 • Updated each year since 2008 to align with ECM • Description • In this course, participants explore the relationship between strategic planning and the man­agement and execution of operations. The course fosters higher-level thinking about how market requirements and social and economic sustainability concerns drive the operations, processes, and resource requirements of the firm. The course addresses three main topics: understanding the business environment, developing the operations strategy, and implementing the operations strategy.
