  2. Introduction Born in Natick Massachusetts at 11:00 A.M. on July 31, 1973 Famous for being a professional skateboarder I picked Andy Macdonald because I like to skateboard.

  3. Childhood Andy Macdonald has a brother named Kyle that is 3 years older then him. When Andy’s mom was eight months pregnant with Andy his parents split up. Andy almost died when he was 18 months old from drinking malathion (a deadly pesticide). When Andy discovered skateboarding he quit doing sports. He got his first Big Wheel bike when he was 4 years old. When Andy was about 5 years old his mom could not really afford a lot of things. They couldn’t really afford real milk all the time so they had to drink powdered milk. Andy’s family says that he was a laid back baby and did not mind moving a lot. Andy had to stay back in second grade because his verbal skills were a little bit behind.

  4. Adolescence Andy got his first skateboard when he was 12 years old. When Andy got his first skateboard he did his first 360. Andy started building ramps for people to skateboard on when he was at the age of 13. but Andy started stealing plywood with his friends to build a ramp when he was about 15. When Andy got to high school he fell in love with a girl named Rebecca. Andy got his license when he was 16 and a half. They first met when they were in the halls. During his freshmen years he got picked to be in a TV show called marshmallow fluff out of the whole school. Andy got the nickname of Wonder Boy by his friends because he was really good at skateboarding. Andy went to San Diego to become a professional skateboarder when he was he was a junior .

  5. Adulthood When Andy went to San Diego he had a hard time getting a job and making money. But when he was there for a long time is where he started being a great success. He won his first pro contest in 1995. Andy had beat tony hawk in the x games in 1996 by a couple points. Soon after he won the high air contest when he was 24. Andy soon then got sponsored by Human/Thruster for 1,200 dollars per month. He got married to Rebecca on march 31, 200. He won the first 3 contest he had entered in 2001. Andy had broke his knee and angle from a contest so he had to get knee and ankle surgery. Soon after he beat tony hawk he accomplished his dream he became a pro skateboarder.

  6. Contributions Some contributions Andy made was he taught kids how to skateboard. He also built skating ramps for kids to skateboard on if they could not find a skate park. He helped out with a TV show called marshmallow fluff. And Andy also contributed money to his mom when he had a job to pay rent because she was having a hard time getting money.

  7. Interesting Story The most interesting story I liked in this book about Andy is how he became a pro skateboarder. He had to go through a lot to become a pro. He first had to make the money by getting a job. And then he had to learn how to skateboard by practicing every day and watching some pro’s skateboard. And the last thing he had to do to become a pro skateboarder is he had to win contest.

  8. 3 Questions I would Ask Andy • How did he get through all that becoming a pro skateboarder. • What was the most difficult thing in his life he had to do. • How did he learn to skateboard and do tricks as fast as he did.

  9. Bibliography Dropping in with Andy Mac the life of a pro skateboarder book.
