Report • Use the data from the Human Development Index) to compare levels of development with degree of democracy and other freedoms.(http://hdr.undp.org) • The other websites (slide 2) allow you to compare countries in order to discover whether there is a relationship between development, human rights an democracy.

  4. Report • Write a report on the link between levels of development and the link between human rights and democracy? • Is the link a compelling one for encouraging more democracy around the world? • Are human rights and democracy spreading around the world? • Could the secret for making the world a fairer place be by spreading democracy rather than trade or aid? • What are the flaws in this argument?
