State Bar of California MCLE Requirements • 25 total hours every 3 years • Maximum of 12.5 “self-study” hours • At least ½ of hours must be “participatory” • Special requirements either “participatory” or “self-study” • Legal ethics - 4 hours • Detection/Prevention of substance abuse or mental illness - 1 hour • Elimination of bias in the legal profession – 1 hour

The Road to Becoming a Multiple Activity Provider • Single Activity Provider may apply after: • 4 separate and different educational activities individually approved • has actually held all 4 activities • has granted California MCLE credit for all four activities within a 2 year period prior to applying for status of Multiple Activity Provider
