  1. Is it Jesus’s will to heal me? • Many struggle with that question. Leper: If it is Your will, You can make me clean. Jesus: I AM Willing! Be healed! • That is His response to you. I AM Willing! Be healed! • It’s settled: It IS His will to heal. • We’ve started a series called Truth Exposes Lies. • It’s about the Big Lies the devil tells concerning healing.

  2. What happens when you turn a light on in a dark room? • The Light dispels the darkness. • That is the same when the light of the truth encounters the lies of the devil. • They are exposed! • Lies are keeping people in bondage.

  3. Charles Spurgeon & the Illiterate Maid • This is a picture of what has happened to believers who’ve bought into the lies of the devil. • They’re living in a one room shanty with the Bible laying there collecting dust. • They’re proud of it, but they’ve never taken the time to find out what it says belongs to them. • Some are sick, broken & poor, but they don’t know that Jesus is offering them all the riches of heaven. • It is His will to heal, to deliver and to bless.

  4. But, most are laying there like the poor maid about to die of malnutrition when everything she needed was hanging on the wall right next to her. • They believe the lies of the devil and stay in bondage. • I’m here to proclaim the truth of God’s Word! • You can be free! • You can be healed! • It IS His will!

  5. Lie # 1 – God Stopped Healing when the Apostles died or when the Bible was finalized (canonized). • But, we learned that He still heals today just as He did 2,000 years ago! • Character – the issue at stake is God’s character. • To say healing and miracles have ceased is to say that God has changed. Jehovah-Rapha, I Am the God who heals you! Guess what? He has not changed His name. • Just as He was a healing God then, He is a healing God today. • What He did then, He still does today.

  6. Lie # 2: God puts sickness on us to teach us a lesson! • God cannot give us what He does not have. • He doesn’t have sickness to give us. • He is the God of life and not sickness. • # 1 way God receives glory in Scripture is through healing, miracles and signs & wonders. • God receives glory in our healing and not in our sicknesses.

  7. LIE #3: God does not will that all be healed! Brother, “Gaud” works in mysterious ways . . . • The Lord’s Prayer: Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven . . .   Question: If it was not possible for this to happen, then why would Jesus have us pray for it? Does Jesus desire ALL to be saved? • Yes! Why would He be selective in healing if He is not selective in salvation? • He’s not. • He accepts all who come to Him in faith.

  8. This week let’s continue to develop the truththat Healing is God’s will. • When you look at the ministry of Jesus, you will notice that He did 3 basic things: • Preached the Gospel • Healed the sick • Cast out demons JESUS – Look at Jesus’ ministry. • There isa pattern here:

  9. Luke 6:17-19 – He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of His disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by evil spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all. • He healed them all! • That is His will. • Everyone who reached out to Him was healed.

  10. Matthew 4:23-24 – Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And He healed every kind of disease and illness. 24 News about Him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to Him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon-possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—He healed them all. • Once again: He healed them all. • He was not selective.

  11. You may think that your disease or situation is too hard. Here’s the truth: • There is no sicknessthat is too hardfor Jesus to heal! • There is no sinthat is too badthat Jesus cannot forgive! • There is no bondagethat is too strong that Jesus cannot set you free from! • For nothing—absolutely nothing—is impossible forGod!!!

  12. Matthew 12:15 – But Jesus knew what they were planning. So He left that area, and many people followed Him. He healed all the sick among them. Do you see a pattern here? • He healed them ALL! • Everyone who comes to Him was healed. • It is His will!

  13. Mark 1:35-39 – 35 Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. 36 Later Simon and the others went out to find Him. 37 When they found Him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you." 38 But Jesus replied, "We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came." 39 So He traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons. • Remember the 3 things Jesus did: preach the Gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons. • In His own words: “For that is why I came!”

  14. Lest you think this was for Jesus &not for all of us. The 12 Matthew 10:1, 7-8 – He called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 7 As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. • When He sent the 12 out, He gave them the same commission: preach the Gospel, heal the sick & cast out demons.

  15. The 70 Luke 10:1, 9, 17– Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come . . . 9 and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.” . . . 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." • Once again the same commission—preach the Gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons.

  16. Disciples • Jesus’ followers did the same in the book of Acts: Acts 5:12, 14-16 – The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people . . . 14 Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women. 15 As a result of the apostles' work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter's shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.

  17. They were simply carrying on the ministry of Jesus—preaching the Gospel and healing the sick. • This is what He had trained them to do. • You don’t hear any of them saying: • sickness is your teacher • God is getting the glory through how well you are dealing with this disease. • No, they just healed them all just like Jesus did. • Now, let’s bring this home.

  18. All Believers—Yes, this is YOU! Mark 16:15, 17-18, 20 – 15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation . . . 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well . . .20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it.

  19. These are the signs of a believer—preach the Gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons. Are you seeing a pattern here? • Jesus did it. • The 12 did it. • The 70 did it. • The disciples did it in the Book of Acts. • And we are to do it. • This is the pattern we are to follow in our day. • But, there’s been a disconnect between Acts & us.

  20. Imagine where we’d be today if believers had continued through the ages what they did in Acts. • The Early Church practiced this, but as time went on, the power began to wane. • And, tradition replaced the power. • People began to develop theologies to explain why people weren’t being healed. • That is where these big lies crept into the Church. • But, Scripture and not our experience should establish our beliefs.

  21. But, I believe God is restoring healing and deliverance to the Church in our time. • And I also believe we are going to surpass in our time even what the Early Church witnessed. Haggai 2:9a –The Glory of the latter house will be greater than the former. • We are beginning to walk in that time. I also believe there will be a time when people will receive their healing as quickly as they receive salvation.

  22. But, we must believe it’s His will for us to be healed. 1 John 5:14-15 – This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. • We often beg God to do what He has already decided to do. • God has already decided to heal, and He demonstrated it when Jesus died on the cross. By the stripes on Jesus’ back, you were healed! (Is. 53)

  23. Randy Clark: To beg God to heal is to assume that you have more mercy than He does.

  24. We are like children begging to try to change a parent’s mind. • We think that if we beg loud enough and long enough, God will relent and heal. • No, that is not the God we serve. • Jesus died on the cross for our sins &sicknesses. • He paid an incredible price for our healing. • We shouldn’t accuse Him of not wanting to heal. • To do that is to assume we have more mercy than He does.

  25. The Gospel of John:Jesus only did what He saw the Father do & only said what He heard the Father say. • That sets a pretty high standard for us to live by. • While Jesus was fully God when He came, He willingly emptied Himself of His divine nature and became a man (Phil. 2:7). • He performed all of His miracles as a man and not as God. • This is important for us to grasp this. • When Jesus healed, it was through His humanity and not through His divinity.

  26. If He had performed them as God, I would have been impressed. • But, because He healed as a man totally yielded to God, I am unsatisfied with my own life. • Jesus is my model. • I can follow Him. • If He did it, it must be possible for us.

  27. If you examine all the healings of Jesus, you will notice that no 2 miracles are the same. • This sets the example for us! • Don’t get so locked into patterns and formulas. • But, we need, like Jesus, to stay connected to what the Father is doing. • It’s no longer a question of whether it is God’s will to heal. • We know He wills to heal, but it’s a question of how. • The good news is that He did not leave us here alone to figure this out.

  28. John 14:23-26 – Jesus replied, "All who love Me will do what I say. • Just as Jesus only does what He sees the Father do and say. • We are to do the same. My Father will love them, and We will come and make our home with each of them. 24 Anyone who doesn't love Me will not obey Me. And remember, My words are not My own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent Me. 25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you.

  29. Do you see the pattern here? • Father speaks • Son speaks • We speak • Father does • Son does • We do But, how do we do this? • He shows us:

  30. 26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as My representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. • When Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit here, He calls Him the Comforter or the Counselor. • This is actually the English translation of the Greek work paraclete.

  31. John 14:26 – But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.(AMP) • The Holy Spirit is not only our Comforter, but also our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. • This Greek word literally means “one who is called to stand by you and help you in your need.”

  32. So, if you need comfort, He is your Comforter. • If you need help, He is your Helper. • If you need encouragement, He is your Encourager. • If you need guidance, He is your Guide. • If you need strength, He is your Strengthener. • Whatever you need, the Holy Spirit is there to assist you. • He comes along side you to Help.

  33. But, notice that He reminds us what Jesus has spoken to us. Remember the pattern? • Father Speaks • Son Speaks • We speak But, how? • The Holy Spirit is there beside us teaching us the right thing to do in every situation. • One key to Jesus’ 100% success in His healing was because He was totally in tune with the Father. • We need to do the same through the Holy Spirit.

  34. We know it is God’s will to heal, but we also need to know how. • To one Jesus said, Go and wash yourself. • To another He said, Go, your faith has made you whole. • To still another He spit on them. • To the woman with the issue of blood, she reached out and touched the hem of His garment. • No 2 miracles were the same. • But in each, He did what He saw the Father do. • This shows a relationship.

  35. We need to track in behind what He is doing. • The deer is one of the most perfectly correlated animals in the animal kingdom. • Where she places her front hooves, her back ones hit in the exact same place. • Therefore, she never stumbles or slips. • We need to learn to track in behind the Lord like the rear legs on a deer. • Then, we will have great success and never fall.

  36. As Jesus’ response to the Leper: I AM willing! Be healed! • That’s His response to you today—I AM Willing!
