  2. PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • eRPM is a Process Management System • eRPM is a Database • Data Element Dictionary Currently Being Reviewed • Data Transfer from PRISM to eResearch • Limited Availability for Campus Community late 2008 • But Full Availability for DRDA

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • 20-25 proposals • Pilot participants • PIs & their collaborators • Associated reviewers & approvers from all affected units • The actual units that participate will depend on having a proposal with submission deadline between late November and mid-February. • The Research Administrator pilot volunteers and their Research ULs will receive more information to prepare them for their roles in the pilot.

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • eResearch Pilot –Impacts on Everyone • When eResearch is piloted everyone will notice: DRDA number format changing • Current format is FY-XXXX (7 character field) e.g., 08-4627 • New Format is FY-PAF12345 (11 character field) e.g., 08-PAF04627 • Supplemental Systems needs to adjust to new width • Pre-proposals will have a “PRE” suffix08-PAF04627-PRE • If Pre-proposal becomes a proposal, PRE is dropped

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • DRDA eResearch processes fully in place for pilot • DRDA will still process paper forms for individuals not participating in eResearch pilot • DRDA will enter eResearch (Proposal Approval Form) information into eResearch system PAF • DRDA will enter Supplemental Information for eResearch Forms (Research ULs will work unit business process)

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • PRISM On the Web (POW) • Renamed Sponsored Awards on the Web (SAW) • No change in functionality • eResearch Data Set (accessed via Business Objects) • Existing predefined reports in PRISM data set will be included in eResearch data set • Several new predefined reports will also be available

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • Individuals with current access to PRISM data set (BusinessObjects) will have access to eResearch data set • PRISM (BusinessObjects) access through Financial ULs • eResearch (BusinessObjects) data set access through Financial ULs OR Research ULs • eResearch (System Access) through PI/Project Team can login for access. Access to specific projects granted by PI or Primary Research Administrator

PRISM – eResearch Data Considerations • Research ULs will be trained on how to process new eResearch data set requests with OARs • FIN & Research ULs will be able to process requests for eResearch Regulatory Management & Proposal Management data sets • Changes will be communicated to everyone with current access to PRISM data set • Individuals who create and maintain queries and already work closely with DRDA will be invited to special training sessions. This is why it is important to contact DRDA with PRISM transition needs
