  1. FF Stabilisation :some thoughts A.Jeremie

  2. Circular detector and rectangular QD0! stabilisation Pre-alignment And/or Discussion with H. Mainaud-Durand Weight 1640kg Drawings from different presentations

  3. Need to talk to the Magnet team to know how this model has been made to be able to go further with calculations.

  4. QD0 in concrete tube with “tunnel wall” No drawing yet for a “fixed end” configuration Independent of concrete tube Low frequency eigenmode We know how to reduce by a factor 3 (just compensation without isolation) QD0 MB Linac quad prorotype QD0 Completely dependant on concrete tube vibrations- coupled system Same configuration as MB linac quad Results expected for 2010 QD0

  5. QD0 in concrete tunnel without “tunnel wall” No drawing yet for a “fixed end” configuration If we stay on tube, then we loose the independence to the tube and keep Low frequency eigenmode =>keep only the “bad” aspects  QD0 QD0 Completely dependant on concrete tube vibrations- coupled system Same configuration as MB linac quad Results expected for 2010 QD0

  6. MB linac Magnet supporting Actuators positions For FF, we could keep only this part, if we go for a 2 feet configuration Version 1 : elastomeric join 22/09/2009 Stabilisation day #7 6

  7. Prototype FE analysis Mode 1 of Magnet without boundary conditions : 257Hz Poles on support : actuators neglected 22/09/2009 Stabilisation day #7 7

  8. Prototype FE analysis Poles on support : actuators considered 22/09/2009 Stabilisation day #7 8

  9. Drawing by E.Solodko (+ L.Pacquet)

  10. “Tunnel is at least ~ 10 times more stable than detector” (A. Seryi, CLIC08) Thin endcaps Is this ‘tunnel part’ more stable than cavern ? Tunnel part 14.Oct. 2009 CLIC_09 Workshop H.Gerwig/ A. Gaddi/ N.Siegrist

  11. But what about the two tunnel floors? C.Montag EPAC 2000 Ground motion measurements in a Hera interaction region THP3B11

  12. Floor settling after detector installation

  13. Plans for next 6 months • Continue work on “stabilisation/Isolation” feet initially for MB linac quad • Continue search and discussion with manufacturers about sensors • Prospect for vibration calculations on QD0 • Closely follow QD0 integration issues • Start to really think CDR

  15. Cantilever FF stabilisation 2.5m FF Al mock-up LAPP active system for resonance rejection Resonance rejection Isolation CERN TMC active table for isolation • The two first resonances entirely rejected • Achieved integrated rms of 0.13nm at 5Hz (L.Brunetti et al, 2007)
