Why biogas? “The world’s most environmentally friendly renewable fuel” • Cheap, local and abundant fuel • Reduces volume of waste • Replaces fossil fuels in heat and power generation and as a vehicle fuel • Nutrient eco-cycling • Contribution to long-term climate neutrality goals Leshchynskyy & Stefánsdóttir, 2012

  3. Problems • Slow penetration of biogas as a vehicle fuel in Denmark • Gas used for Combined Heat & Power (CHP) rather than transport • Difficulties in knowledge transfer Skåne - Sjælland Leshchynskyy & Stefánsdóttir, 2012
