I do and I understand. --Confucius • The Washington, D.C. trip is designed to be a practical learning experience for the participants. • The students will get an opportunity to see American Government in action and American History in person. • To understand fully the hardships that the Founding Fathers faced. • To determine how a Representative Republic works.

  3. Eligibility • To be eligible for the Washington DC trip, students must: • Be academically eligible – passing ALL courses for • the school year • Maintain 95% attendance • Have not received an out of school suspension • Have not received more than one (1) in-school • suspension • Be in good standing with the library, cafeteria, athletic • department, etc. • Agree to and abide by the DC Trip Behavior Contract • (to be signed by student and parent in Spring 2010) • Attend all scheduled DC Trip Meetings

  4. Important Dates to Remember DC 2013 Trip Date: May 20-24, 2013 Registration Begins: September 3, 2012 Scholarship Applications Due By: September 19 Scholarship Award letters go home: September 24 Scholarship Acceptance Commitment Forms from parents due By: September 28

  5. Payment Information • Registration Fee: $79.00 - #33311303 • Insurance for Refund: $89.00 • Total Cost: $745.00 • Last Payment Due By: April 24, 2013

  6. Scholarship Information Any student may complete a scholarship application with his or her family and return it to Mr. Cummings no later than September 19. A committee will examine all factors and will communicate in writing what amount can be granted. Scholarships will not exceed $360, or half the cost of the trip. No scholarship money will be granted until registration fee has been paid.

  7. Cost = $745 • Covered Costs • Quad Room for 4 nights • Food & Entertainment • Transportation • Guides • Accident & Health Insurance while on the • trip. • Not Covered • Spending money -- $50 - $100
