  4. Now start PuTTYPortable Double click CTEC ..or.. Single click CTEC, then Load, then Open

  5. CTEC Unix Server Initial Steps After successful login, then we will need the chapter files. To get these … At the Unix “$” prompt enter the following: mkdir ctec110 cd ctec110 cp /home/faculty/dsims/ctec110/* . –R 2> /dev/null Use the command ls to view the files.

  6. What it should look like cp/home/faculty/dsims/ctec110/*.–R2>/dev/null

  7. CTEC Unix Chapter sequencing (Learning event sequence for Unix…) • Read the chapter as soon as you can • View the slide sets • Do the review questions at the end of each Chapter • Attempt the hands on projects at the end of each Chapter before class • In the class session will demo the hands on projects. Ask your questions here… • We will then have a 10 question quiz at the end the class session of each chapter

WinSCP Utility • The WinSCP Utility will help you transfer files back and forth between the UNIX CTEC server and your windows machine. • Use this URL to attain the Utility: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/winscp_portable • Download this file and then install it on your usb drive. • Use the same configuration you use for the CTEC server.
