  1. Administrative Orderno. 15Series of 2011 Subject: AMENDED GUIDELINES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRAMANG AGRIKULTURANG PILIPINO (GulayansaPaaralan)

  2. Section 1: Basic Policy • Consistent with the goal of the Department of Agriculture to attain food self-reliance and self-sufficiency, it is the policy of the state to empower its constituency by enhancing their capability to produce their own food through adoption of various means of vegetable growing.

  3. Section 2: Objectives General: • Promote self help food production activities and values among children that will appreciate agriculture as a life support system.

  4. Specific: • Promote vegetable production through natural farming in public elementary/ High Schools; • Establish/maintain school gardens to serve as food basket/main source of vegetable to sustain supplementary feeding; • Showcase small-scale food production model in schools for the households/communities to replicate, purposely to promote family food security.

  5. Section 3: Duration, Scope and Coverage • The program will cover all public elementary and High schools in 16 Regions and National Capital Region; • For year 2011, the Programs’ target is 8,415 schools (in 26 provinces) • By 2016, 42,076 school gardens (8,415 schools per year) all over the country (78 Provinces) are targeted.

  6. Section 4: Project Components 4.1 . Sustainable Production of Vegetables. 4.2 . School Gardens for Source of Supplemental Feeding 4.3 . Small-scale Food Production Model.

  7. Section 7: Information Dissemination and Advocacy Campaign 7.1 . DA, ATI and DepEd in coordination with NNC shall take the lead in the advocacy and promotion of the program. ATI RTC will be responsible for the documentation of success stories. 7.2 . Quad-media shall be used to promote the program.

  8. Section 9: Roles and Responsibilities • Department of Agriculture • Department of Education • Local Government Unit (LGU) 5. Other Program Partners

  9. Section 10: Separability Clause If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this Memorandum od Understanding (MOU) shall be deemed invalid, it shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof.

  10. Section 11: Effectivity This order shall take effect immediately
