Wesley The Church’s one foundation, Is Jesus Christ her Lord,She is His new creation, elect from every nation,Yet one o’er all the earth; Her charter of salvation,One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy Name she blesses,Partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses,With every grace endued. Mid toil and tribulation,And tumult of her war, She waits the consummationOf peace forevermore; Till, with the vision glorious,Her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victoriousShall be the Church at rest. Samuel J. Stone Samuel S. Wesley The Impact of Liberation theory and politics for peace, progress and social justice

  21. Details of liberation theology and politics • Liberation theology[1] is a political movement in Roman Catholic theology which interprets the teachings of Jesus Christ in relation to a liberation from unjust economic, political, or social conditions. • The term was coined in 1971 by the Peruvian priest Gustavo Gutiérrez, who wrote one of the movement's most famous books, A Theology of Liberation

  24. Delaying the Effects of Aging • The process of aging may be inevitable, however one may potentially delay the effects and severity of this progression. While there is no consensus of efficacy, the following are reported as delaying cognitive decline: • High level of education[12][45] • Physical exercise[46] • Staying intellectually engaged, i.e. reading and mental activities (such as crossword puzzles)[47] • Maintaining social and friendship networks[48] • Maintaining a healthy diet, including omega-3 fatty acids, and protective antioxidants.[11] • "Super Agers"[edit] • Longitudinal research studies have recently conducted genetic analyses of centenarians and their offspring to identify biomarkers as protective factors against the negative effects of aging. In particular, the cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) gene is linked to prevention of cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease.[49] Specifically, valine CETP homozygotes but not heterozygotes experienced a relative 51% less decline in memory compared to a reference group after adjusting for demographic factors and APOE status.

  30. ‘The Cross and the Lynching Tree’ . By James H. Cone 1. Niebuhrhad ‘eyes to see’ black suffering, but I believe he lacked ‘the heart to feel’ it as his own” (41). meanwhile, the pain and suffering of being black in America was occurring only blocks away in the streets of Harlem. Cone compares Niebuhr with Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who famously became involved at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. Again, of the two theologians—Bonhoefferand Niebuhr—one died on the cross and one did not. [ “It is one thing to teach theology (like Niebuhr, Barth, Tillich and most theologians) in the same environs of a classroom and quite another to live one’s theology in a situation that entails the risk of one’s life” (70). Tillich stood up to Hitler and Nazism,
