Deadly weapons possession on school premises • Possession of deadly weapons on school premises is not allowed by statute. • Deadly weapon means anything designed for lethal use including firearms. • Exception is law enforcement personnel in the performance of their duties. • Report violations IMMEDIATELY to a school administrator. • School administrator IMMEDIATELY report violations to peace officer. • School administrator notifies the Superintendent of the violation.

  3. Drug Free School Zone • Possession, use, sale, or transfer of drugs in a school zone in a violation of statute. • A drug free school zone means 300 feet of a school, its grounds, any public property within 1000 feet of a school, a school bus stop or on a school bus. • Report violations IMMEDIATELY to a school administrator. • School administrator IMMEDIATELY report violations to peace officer. • School administrator notifies the Superintendent of the violation.

  4. Child Abuse • Non-accidental physical injury (bruising, sores, bleeding, burns, etc.), abuse, child abuse or exploitation is a reportable offense. • Transmission to children of harmful items via internet or email, photographs, videos, is a reportable offense. • Report violations IMMEDIATELY to a school administrator. • School administrator IMMEDIATELY reports violations to Superintendent who must call DPS Immediately and file a written report within 72 hours.

  5. Threats and Crimes against Employees, Staff and Students • Threats of personal injury or death are reportable offenses. • Report violations IMMEDIATELY to a school administrator. • School administrator IMMEDIATELY report violations to peace officer. • School administrator notifies the Superintendent of the violation.
