The History 2002 – 2008 • 2002 – ESF funded project originally developed in Rhondda Cynon Taf • Total project value - £5.2 million over 3 years – full spend achieved • 2,000 total beneficiaries supported – targets exceeded • 2005 – Genesis Cymru Wales – National 3 year ESF project rolled out to 22 Local Authorities Provided by RCT Genesis Project August 2004
The History continued.. • Total project value (Objective one and three areas) £31M – Full spend achieved • Additional £1.5 million awarded by WEFO to extend project to Sept 2008 • 16,143 Total beneficiaries supported – targets exceeded. Provided by RCT Genesis Project August 2004
The Future 2008 - 2014 • Total value of project across convergence and competitiveness areas £69 million over 6 years • Target number of participants – 20,000 • Project to engage those furthest away from the work place to help them prepare for formal learning and work by building confidence and self esteem and improving life skills • Outcomes to be measured – by the distance travelled by individuals and the numbers of people referred onto partner organisations for further support into learning and work.
