  2. ADMISSIONS AND INITIAL ELIGIBILITY • Increase from 13 to 14 the required number of high school core courses. Could increase further into the future. • Georgia Tech’s Executive Admissions Committee was expanded to include four GT faculty plus Deborah Smith. New guidelines have been adopted.

  5. CONTINUING ELIGIBILITY: ACADEMIC PROGRESS TO DEGREE Note: • Student-athletes must complete 24 semester-hours before the start of their second year. Of these, only six semester hours can be “remedial”. • Student-athletes must complete 6 semester-hours per term and 18 semester-hours per academic year. • Must designate their degree program by the start of Year 3.

  6. ISSUES AND ACTIONS • President Clough led a mini-retreat in late August of key GT academic and athletic leaders. • Early summer session precludes GT from being able to enroll most student-athletes in the summer before freshman year. • Students will have to make progress in the core courses including English, math, science, and computing. • Continued support for the Hearn Center.
