Introduction • The role of women has changed greatly throughout history. • One can see this role revolutionize in literature as time progresses. • For example, in early literature, women played a subordinate role in the majority of works such as “My Last Duchess” by R. Browning. • In later years, women have been viewed as a more dominant figure, for example in “A Jury of Her Peers” by Glaspell.

  3. The Task • TAKE OUR QUIZ!! FIND OUT WHO WEARS THE BLOOMERS IN THE FAMILY!! • Find examples of women’s role in literature that reflect their roles in society. Take a note of the time period the work was written, the author’s gender, and the nationality of the author. • Be sure to include both passive and active roles. • What is the relationship of men to the women in the story?

Conclusion • Finally in 1920, women were able to vote • After this leap in women’s rights, more measures were taken for women’s equality • Women who have been very determined in the past have accomplished just as much as any strong willed man • Through this project, you have learned the perseverance of women throughout history • To learn more about women’s rights, go to your local library and check IT out!!!
